Better Work, Better Life

Every job interview is a chance to hone your skills and learn from experience. One way to do that is to come up with a mental checklist of things to do that will impress potential employers. Here are some insightful tips to help you nail that interview:

Before The Interview
Anticipate commonly asked questions and prepare!
Learn about the company you are interviewing with: the nature of their business, products and services, organisational structure, names of their key managers, etc.
Browse through their website and talk to friends who work for or know the company.
During The Interview

Remember that the interview is a two-way process and is also your chance to assess the company to see how well you would fit in there.
Ask relevant questions such as who you would be reporting to and what the prospects for growth and advancement are. This will help you make an informed decision about joining the company.

Follow-Up
Conduct a self-assessment and be very honest with yourself about your performance.
If you don’t hear any news, make a follow up call to show that you’re keen - but do not call too often.
Writing a thank you note shows consideration and reaffirms your interest in the job.
If you didn’t get the job, always remember that you may not have done anything wrong in the interview, so keep trying and bear in mind what you have learned from other interviews.
